It is my distinct honor to pass the funeral home "torch" on to Adam Albrecht and staff.  I am encouraged to say that Adam and his staff will give you the same care and compassion in the future years here at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home as I have given to the community in the past.

Sincerely, Bill Hurtley

I was born in Stoughton, WI and raised in the Milton/Edgerton area. I graduated from the School District of Milton in 1993. I attended UW-Rock County College, Blackhawk Technical College and Milwaukee Area Technical College, having a range of medical positions leading to a senior clinic lab technician for Fort HealthCare Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. I also served as an AEMT with the Milton and Milton Township Fire Department for 25 years, retiring December 31, 2019.

In 2013, I began to work with Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services part-time. In January of 2015 I left the medical practice in Fort Atkinson/Whitewater entirely and started practicing as an apprentice funeral director for the Albrecht family. I graduated from MATC-West Allis in May 2020 with an Associates Degree in Funeral Science and passed all national board examinations and the State of Wisconsin Licensing and Credentialing Boards.

On Dec 30, 2021 Owner Adam Albrecht bought Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home from Bill Hurtley and we began to learn this community. With that we brought on two more remarkable employees, Funeral Director Cassie Lambert and Apprentice Funeral Director Nick Lambert.

I live in Milton with my husband, Otis, our son Thomas and our playful rescue cat Anubis.

I enjoy knitting, spinning wool, swimming whenever possilble, playing handbells and being an active member in the Milton United Methodist Church Bell Choir.

I know that I was always meant to help people and this keeps me in the communities that my ancestors and I have grown up in. I am fortunate to be able to work with the people I have grown to know and love and I am grateful for the people and families that I am privileged to work with in Milton, Edgerton and Evansville.

Thank you for making our transition to your community a welcome one!
